Infrastructure as code and hosting operations

Explore Trax Armstrong’s work with Terraform, Ansible, Linux, cloud environments, and hosting control panels.

I use Terraform and Ansible to make infrastructure changes reproducible, reviewable, and easier to hand off. Python and Bash support automation and practical operating tasks.

Make the change visible

A useful automation workflow includes the proposed configuration, checks, an understandable diff, and a recovery plan. The goal is a change another authorized person can review and repeat with the right context.

Work with the systems people use

My hosting experience spans a broad range of control panels, including cPanel and WHM and Plesk, alongside Linux, Apache, NGINX, WHMCS integrations, and website migrations. When a platform is unfamiliar, I investigate its operating model, learn the relevant workflow, and validate the result. Those systems connect software, customer access, mail, DNS, and billing, so a change needs attention to more than one page or process.

Document the operating path

Runbooks should explain prerequisites, intended effects, checks, and recovery. I value documentation that supports ordinary work and incident response, and that reduces dependence on a single operator.
